Eco-friendly Brussels start-up wants to bring drinks to your door
A Brussels start-up is trying to revolutionise the way we buy drinks with an ecologically responsible delivery service, RTBF and Bruzz report.
Arnaud Vanderveken and Sebastiaan Van de Voorde, the two Brussels residents behind the Cheers to You project, came upon the idea during the coronavirus pandemic. Both ecologically aware, the pair wanted to take the increasingly popular home delivery concept to another level, by only putting drinks on the menu and delivering them in an environmentally-friendly way.
Cheers to You provides an easy, flexible delivery concept, deposit collection system and a wide range of drinks at competitive prices, says the start-up. By delivering drinks to the home, any travel, effort and waste of time on the consumer’s part is avoided.
While customer satisfaction is key, what is equally important is the sustainable aspect, say the founders. Cheers to You uses electric cargo bikes to deliver, helps to recycle glass through its deposit system and sells a range of local and organic drinks.
The service offers a large selection of drinks via its website, many of which cannot be found in standard supermarkets. Customers can choose small or large quantities, ranging from 12 to 24 bottles depending on the brand. Once you have made your choice, you place an order by indicating your address, choosing a delivery slot where you will be at home and then pay.
On the designated day of delivery, in the proposed time slot, a rider arrives with your boxes of drinks and takes away your empties. Deliveries usually take place on the same day you placed an order. The service currently operates between 9.00. and 18.00.
In the future, the founders hope to increase the range of drinks on offer, provide more flexibility when it comes to delivery times and expand their service to other major Belgian cities such as Antwerp, Ghent and Liège. There are also plans to make ordering simpler by providing an app for mobile devices.
