Red Cross appeals for English book donations for upcoming autumn sale
Planning a book clear-out? The Belgian Red Cross is appealing for donations of English books to sell at its vast annual fundraising sale.
The event includes a substantial section for second-hand English books among its large collection of titles in French and Dutch. Each year it raises tens of thousands of euros for the charity.
Please drop off your books by 31 October at the latest, at the Red Cross centre, 96 Rue de Stalle, Uccle. There are clearly-labelled baskets inside the building in which books can be deposited. The centre is open Monday to Friday, 8.00-17.30. Outside of opening hours donors can leave boxes at the front door (in a sheltered position).
The sale usually includes novels, literature, English learning titles, children's books, recipe books, biographies, travel guides, scholarly titles and more.
If you want to replenish your shelves with some new reading material, come along to the multi-day event at the Red Cross centre in Uccle in November. Vinyls and CDs, comic strips and children’s toys and puzzles will also be selling.
Look out for exact dates and details of the sale to be announced soon.
