Second-hand books for sale: Red Cross fundraiser in Brussels from 14 to 19 November

The Belgian Red Cross is holding its large annual second-hand book sale in Uccle from 14 to 19 November, raising funds for some of the most needy in society.

There will be bargains aplenty as the charity is moving premises and needs to clear its large stock of books, CDs and DVDs.

Among the thousands of titles being sold at low prices are hundreds of English-language books.

Most of the books on offer are in French, with a smaller number of Dutch and other-language titles. There’s also a selection of children’s toys and puzzles.

In the English-language section, bookworms will find a vast array of titles, including novels, literature, language learning, abridged versions of classics for students, cookery books, biographies, travel books and cultural and scholarly publications.

The popular sale is at the Red Cross centre, 96 Rue de Stalle, Uccle. Entrance is free, and it’s open from 10.00 to 18.00.
