Paying off a car loan early

Question

Hello Xpatters,

Doing some weekend financial simulations and hoping someone can tell me, based on experience, is it possible to pay off a Belgian car-loan EARLER than scheduled? Most likely this will be possible, and would eliminate "throwing money away" on interest payments.

I can contact my bank on Monda, but perhaps one or some of you have already been in the same situation?

Possible? Yes.
Good idea? Only if you have enough cash to last at least 6 months in a savings account and won't touch it. If you don't have the emergency cash, that's your priority - not paying off the loan.
