Pop -up adverts always in Flemish
I live in Waterloo and find that adverts and notifications (as well as information for emergency phone numbers etc ) which appear on my smartphone and pc are always in Flemish.
I phoned Proximus who said I should ask staff at one of their shops, unfortunately they couldn't provide a solution.
I've set English as my main language and live in a region where French is the key language and my 'location' is set to Waterloo, so any suggestions on how I can change these notifications from Flemish to French.
Please give specifics of Browser used, do you have any Add-ons installed etc.

I live in Flanders and typically get loads of ads in French which I don't speak beyond the absolute basics.
The problem is that the sites displaying the ads don't care whether we understand them. They are being paid to display them and that's what they do.
Everything I get from Proximus - ads excluded - is in English. I can't tell you how I achieved that other than that I set the options myself 20 years ago. Messages on the phone telling me about 'call-back' and notifications about 'Voice Mail' are always in spoken English so the option clearly still exists.
Why don't you just block pop-up ads on your browser?
Internet advertisers don't know which language you speak. I would guess that they often target people based on their (very) approximate location, including sometimes even the country in general. I'm in Flanders and see ads in French on some sites.
The real question is, why haven't you installed an ad blocker yet? At the very least on your desktop.
