Procedure for de-registering as a freelancer

Hi,

Could anyone point me towards info on how to de-register as a freelancer ("independent")? I'm planning to leave Belgium at the end of the year and have no idea what the legal requirements are.

I've found info in French on how to de-register from VAT: http://business.belgium.be/fr/procedures/detail.jsp?referer=50031/FR/1

but can't seem to find anything on how to de-register my actual business. I've looked at the guichet d'entreprise website but can only find info on setting up, not closing down.

I can't reach my accountant at the moment, otherwise I'd check with her.

It's very simple. Just go to your Guichet d'entreprise and they will do it for you, there and then. It is immediate, or I think you can choose the date you wish to close.
