public hospital
Hello,
Can anyone give recommendation for public hospital in Belgium please? And how long does the queue to get an operation (how many weeks/months). I am scheduled to get an operation for fibroid removal operation but I would like to know first the price difference between public and private hospital (i am not registered at mutualite yet)
I am assuming you must be from the UK as there is not quite the same distinction here between public and private hospitals here, nor are the queues the same. I'm not sure that many Belgians could name which 1/3 of hospitals in Brussels are public and which 2/3 are officially private.

For anything gaenecological, I am guessing Edith Cavell or Ste Elisabeth might be the most expensive, because they offer more "private" facilities apparently at least when giving birth and reportedly the most expensive places to give birth if you want a private room.

Go and register with a mutuelle, then go and see a GP who will recommend where to go. You shouldn't have to wait too long. Ask your mutuelle if there is a waiting period for your medical treatment, if not, just go and get it done.
