For the last Queimada of this season, two explosive groups are on the program.

We will start as usual with a dance introduction by our partner Frisse Folk. Follia! and Hidrae will then set fire to the “Maison du Peuple”. Between the two groups performances’, you can have a taste of the drink with magical virtues, symbol of the friendship between the musicians and the public accompanied by Galician bagpipes from A Contrabanda.

Follia!, a group made of Sammy Lee Daese and brothers Johan and Pieter Decancq, will amaze you as much as when they first started. Proof is within the new album of these musicians with diverse backgrounds and training. Elements of classical and jazz music are combined with those of folk and traditional music where a wide range of instruments play their part such as violin, flute, bagpipes and vocals who play an important role. The result is an energetic challenge for the participants on the dancefloor and a treat for the ears.

Hidrae shares with us torrid folk music with powerful melodies, magnificent timbres and refined arrangements. This group is made up of Hilke Bauweraerts on diatonic accordion and vocals, Marieke Van Ransbeeck on Flemish bagpipes and baroque musette, Malicorne Buysse on violin and cello, Thomas Hoste on electro-acoustic hurdy-gurdy and Zjef Van Steenbergen on electric bass and guitar. The quintet transmits both a good dose of adrenaline and a good amount of serotonin. The result is guaranteed emotions for body and mind.
