question about renting a room in Brussels, Belgium

Question

Hi folks,

Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this topic and if anyone has had the experience of doing this, i'm trying to understand the entire process on renting a room, i understand you need a rental contract (contrat de bail in French) which has to be registered with signatures of both landlord and tenant with a blocked account at the bank, i have the following questions:

* where can i get the entire process from start to end?
* From the rental income is it taxed and if so what is the percentage?
* Is there a minimum/maximum amount of months/years that has to be specified by law or is this flexible?
* Are there any fees that i had to pay i.e. contract registration or any other matters?

I would appreciate any guidance or resources i managed to find some information from the website of codedulogement.

Wishing you all a pleasant evening

J

Go to the library and ask them for a book on the subject.
