Does the concept of "mentoring" exist in Europe/Belgium? I know it's a big thing in organizations in the US. Here, if it does exist, are there formal systems, or rather more informal?

I am an EU national living and working in Brussels. My De facto partner/girlfriend is not an EU citizen, but wishes to move over to join me.
