Question

My dvd in the car stopped working. They send it to the company to get it repaired. It has been over 2month now and nothing happend. At the car company they are just saying that it is not up to them, they can't do anything and that it is just normal to wait 2or 3 months. I don't find that normal. Can anyone help me to find the general rule written that says in what time the reparation has to be done at the latest? I head that it is supposed to be in 45 days...
Thank you in advance

What does your guarantee say?
Most car guarantees exclude extras which have been supplied by third parties over whom the car manufacturer has no direct control.
If you have not done so, contact the Belgian importers of the car and their head office wherever they are made, similarly for the makers of the DVD.
I've never heard of a law that says how quickly repairs have to be carried out but, if one exists, I cannot imagine how it could be enforced on the makers of either the car or the DVD if they are outside Belgium and/or the EU.

Thank you for your answer.
Where I come from, we have a rule that the product should be repaired in 45 days. If not, it has to be replaced by new one or you could ger the money back.
They are both situtated in Brussels. The car company was the one who instaled the dvd in and they also took it off and send it to be repaired. Now they are saying that they can't do anything... But I find waiting for a period like that too long...
