Residence period

Hi everyone..
I got my first residence card after five months that I came to Belgium. I paid taxes and social security in those five months. The delay happened due to the slower registration process from the commune. From When my residence period in BE is counted ? Is it from the day that I came to Belgium or the day that I received my residence card.? Thanks.
