Responsibility for water heater repair

Question

Hi all,

I had my water heater inspected this morning according to my annual maintenance contract. It is a wall-mounted tankless-type boiler that was just replaced by the landlords about 2 years ago -- maybe less, in which case it is still under warranty.

A couple of months ago, the temperature control knob became stuck. According to the technician inspecting the heater, an interior piece must be replaced at a cost of EUR 125.

It is not clear to me whether this cost falls within the realm of my responsibility or the landlords' (though it will be a moot point if it is still under warranty). Advice please?

Mimi

I don't think that the tenant's responsibility for servicing the heater is limited to the annual service. I don't know how it is dealt with if it is something major, but in this case it is not.
