Scoooter/Trottinette for a 6 year old girl
Do you have any recommendations for a Scoooter/Trottinette for a 6 year old girl?
Need is, she has to use it to go to school with two of her brothers.
School is 2 km away and mostly cobblestones pavements!!!.
An adult would be accompanying all three children all the time.
She has a 20 inch bicycle with trainer wheels but trainer wheels wear out as it is 4 kms a day. No convenient public transport. Options or walking, bicycling or trottinette.
(1)Do you have any recommendations for a Scoooter/Trottinette for a 6 year old girl?
(2)-How about PUKY R 7 L or another conventional scooter from decathlon etc?
(3)Do you recommend a 2 wheel or 3 wheel scooter?
(4)Any shops within 50km of Brussels which has more stock and models (or can travel to even neighbouring countries like Germany or Netherlands if needed)?
(5) Price not a concern-Which brand is better?
At 6, she should take to 2 wheels quite readily.
One of them extra wheel things that trails behind your own bike could be a good idea.
Why not just walk?
PUKY R 7 L looks good to me.
I have my doubts that scootering will be less strenuous than walking, but it's probably 2/3 practical, 2/3 psychology.
A bike would work for us, but different child...
Hello, I would recommend the Maxi Micro Scoter, my son (6) uses it since he was 2. Now he has the bigger version. My daughter (4) also loves it! :-)
I recommend the Maxi Micro scooter as well. Good quality, stable, adjustable bar, 3 wheels but that is not a bad thing at this age. My 6 year old uses it all the time and it is especially useful for longer walks to keep him going. When they get tired, it is actually easy to push them on it, because it is so stable.
You can find them in many toy stores in Brussels, although they might be cheaper online.
> we need to replace trainer/ support wheel every month
I'd try to get her up & running without it. Sorry - forgot to mention that. Less tiring than a scooter.
Wouldn't a scooter be hard over cobblestones? Why not a bike without training wheels? Or a bike trailer where you could also put the school bags? Change school? 2km is quite far if you're in WSP, most people would be 500m from their nearest school - sorry making huge assumptions. Our 7 year old has cycled for the past year 1.5km to school (unable to move school when moved house), 2 wheels only. I really would remove those training wheels, even our autistic and dyspraxic finally managed 2 wheels at age 5 1/2 when 3 1/2 year old brother has his training wheels removed, until then I thought he'd end up with a special needs tricycle.
Hi,
We had for our daughters the preceding model of the Puky R 7 L and we're very happy with the fat air tyres. As my daughters are now too big for it, I would sell it on. If you're interested, please leave your e-mail address and I could send you a photo of it.
