Sheepskin rugs
I've done both.
Washing and they did turn out rather curly but dry cleaning cost almost 80% of what a new rug would cost though the results were far better. I guess it's a case of where the rug is going to live - in the guest bedroom and washing it will do.
I guess it depends how you wash them, if it's pure sheepskin, wool has natural oils in to keep it clean and washing it too hot or with the wrong product might take this out. Can you try and rinse carefully by hand then hang to dry might reduce the curling issue.
