Shopping 101
Anything open today - I'd really like to go shopping now that I have some time off?
Thanks in advance to all answers
PS: Isn't it a bit silly that all shops are closed at times when people have time on their hands, but stay open when everybody is working - can't see how that helps the economy...
No. Except for the small corner shops, shops and supermarkets are closed on a public holiday.
Isn't it a bit silly to believe that people working in shops and supermarkets would not want to work either on a publich holiday? And isn't it silly to believe that just because opening hours are endless, people then also have endless money to spend? Figures show that overall sales do NOT increase because of extended opening hours, the sales just stretch over a larger period of time, with higher costs for wages and other expenses for the shopkeeper. Hey - economy!
