We thought about going over the border to Holland tommorow for a change of scenery, i understand that the food shops are open and was going to do a shop as i've heard its cheaper than Belgium, can anyone confirm this?

It depends on where you're going as to whether the shops will be open or not, so check. Also, some things are cheaper, some not.
