I had the same happen and repaired it myself without too much difficulty.

So long as you can get access to the works - typically by undoing 2 screws at the bottom and removing an access plate at the top - have a look. You have nothing to lose even if you cannot sort it out but you'll feel rather dumb if a mechanic undos 2 screws, removes a piece of paper that has got stuck in there and charges you €60.00 for his time.
