Question

so I make a skype account - and proceed to buy credit with my visa - which i use a lot online! So far so good, until the last page - where they ask me to verify with my bank etc - so I tap on the box for that - and instead get a random crazy message about not having verification from my bank+ 2 msgs - something called F1 or/and something called F2.
After repeating the motions 4 times, I give up - no credit skype possible and some daft explanatioin. How does everyone else get it successfully a thanks

Who issued your Visa card?
Can't you pay by bancontact?

Skype to Skype is free. Skype to landline or Skype to mobile phone is not (although considerably cheaper than via a traditional provider). You pay with Skype Credit.

It would be very useful to know what the error messages said exactly, that way you could google it and probably would find an answer. "Random crazy message" and "daft explanation" is not enormously helpful for anyone who would like to try to help you with this.

F1 and F2 are buttons on the verification bank gadget that you need to use to pay bills using a BE based credit card or bancontact card in order to verify the payment - to sign in effect

You must have done something wrong. I have a standing Skype order on my Visa card since years now, and it works perfectly!

thanks all - and for the F1 F2 clarification because in fact i do have a bancontact for Belgium (where my skype address is based) - whereas my visa originates from my home country. - however I dont think I saw Bancontact as an option for payment on skype - though an ing card was an option on the listµ;

If your Skype account is registered to Belgium that could be the problem - I sometimes, but not always, have problems when I want to have things delivered to an address in a different country to the one where my card is based. The card provider blocks the payment on security grounds - mismatch between card country and service delivery country, and this is after I have done all the other security, passwords for the card etc..

"my visa originates from my home country"
Paying with a UK visa when you reside in Belgium can be a nightmare. Usually, it's restrictions on the site itself - not a problem with Visa or with the issuer.

My advice would be to seek alternative means of payment. Last time I used Skype, they offered bank transfer.
