Smart Phone UK/BE

Question

My wife, who's self-employed, divides her working life between Belgium and the UK. At the moment she uses a 'normal' mobile phone and swaps SIM cards but she would like to be able to upgrade to a Smartphone.

One of the problems is that it doesn’t seem worthwhile to pay relatively large subscription in each country for what would be part-time use. Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?

I've a pay-as-you-go from O2. You manage your account (top ups etc) online.

Try a dual sim 'phone (both sims in the 'phone all the time, you choose which to use for what) with pay and go subscription in at least one country.. you won't find a dual sim iphone I would imagine, but there are a no of options for android dual sim.

We've just bought a dual sim 'phone for my son who's studying in a different country, but it's not android so I can't help you with a consumer review...

Oh, and both my sons are on mobile viking pay and go in Belgium - you have up to 2GB download (I think, from memory) with loads of local texts - not so much talk time.. for 15 eur a month..(and we 'ported' one of the 'phone nos from another provider - it worked well..)

google the SAMSUNG S7562 GALAXY S DUOS, i bought one recently and am very happy with it. my simcard from one country is a pay&go triple flat with internet, the other pay&go calls and sms only. you can switch the cards on or off individually or have them both active. use whatsapp with the card that has internet to keep communications cheap. there is a handbook on the phone itself, but "android phones for dummies" is really good for the non-intuitive. you get it from bolcom.nl (free delivery to belgium).
