SNCB to produce modified schedule during strike
In an unprecedented move, rail authority SNCB is producing a modified schedule that will be in effect during the train strike at the end of next week. Two unions are downing tools next Friday and Saturday.
The unions – CGSP and ACOD – have called on drivers and other rail personnel to strike in protest at the reform of pension plans. Travellers will be able to consult a schedule of train services starting on Thursday night. This will ensure that commuters know if and when their train is expected to arrive on Friday and Saturday.
SNCB said that it’s best to recheck the website or app before leaving home whether there has been any change to the schedule. The new system will see fewer people waiting on platforms not knowing if their train is on the way.
The strike begins at 22.00 on Thursday and will end at 22.00 on Saturday.
