St John’s International School: 60 Years of Academic Excellence
This year, St. John’s International School, a leading premium school in Belgium, celebrates the 60th anniversary of its founding. Located 20 minutes from Brussels in the vibrant, historic city of Waterloo, the school is renowned for nurturing academic excellence through outstanding pastoral care, global opportunities and a commitment to community outreach.
On Thursday 16 November, St John’s is inviting prospective parents and students to attend its Open Day to experience in-person the school’s state-of-the-art campus, including boutique boarding houses, a professional-grade theatre and extensive sporting facilities.
International Mindset
Despite having only joined the global Inspired Education Group in 2016, St. John’s International School has embodied the group’s values for 60 years, which continue to be strengthened and upheld as the school adapts to a fast-changing modern world. With multiple pathways to graduation, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and AP exams, students benefit from a bespoke curriculum that accommodates their individual needs and interests.
The curriculum has been tailored around the long-standing belief that embedding cultural awareness into education inspires children to develop skills that are essential to future success. Beginning in their Primary years, children at SJIS are offered multiple French and English Dual Language courses, encouraging students to become bilingual and biliterate, as well as engage in multiple cultures at once. Combined with access to camps and exchanges in other Inspired Education Group schools around the world, the curriculum at St. John’s shapes children into astute, socially engaged young learners with an international mindset, who are empowered to discover their potential.
Nurturing Community
St. John’s International School is an open-minded, dynamic and welcoming learning environment where each child’s unique contribution is encouraged and valued, supported by the warm and inclusive parent community who organise regular family events that enhance the spirit of the school.
Guided by the school values of knowledge, compassion and resilience, the school has earned a long-established reputation for nurturing confident, adaptive, lifelong learners who celebrate diversity and engage globally. As the school celebrates the 60th anniversary of its founding, it looks forward to continuing this legacy with each new student to come.
