Sugar Soap needed - UK shopping trip coming up?

Question

Hi, apparently Sugar Soap is doing wonders to clean nicotine stained walls. Unfortunately it seems that you only get it in the UK (& commonwealth) where I'm not planning on going at the moment. Bit of a far cry but is anyone going on a UK shopping trip and could bring some back to Brussels? Against cash, of course.
Thanks!
Chris

"Sugar soap" is a generic name for a range of products, all of which will perform a particular task - rather like "washing powder", in fact - so it isn't surprising that it isn't available outside the anglophone world. As DAVEL has suggested "St Marc" is generally considered to be its francophone equivalent.

hmmm...as far as I know "sugar soap" in the UK is basically caustic soda (soude caustique i think). But this stuff is really strong. It will eat through rubber gloves, and through your skin. In fact, put some caustic soda chrystals in a (glass) container and add water and it fizzes and heats up to 70-80 degrees. Do the same thing in a plastic container and you have a pile of melted plastic and crap all over your floor burning its way into anything organic, including your hands as you try to mop up...

Stick to St Marc and elbow grease. Or even just diluted eus de javel (bleach).
