Taking Cambio Car to UK

Question

Does anyone have any experience of doing this? They say it's fine as long as you tell them when you book.

MeHa

It becomes expensive to take a Cambio car abroad. Easier and cheaper to take a hired car. Cambio have a deal with Hertz that gives you discount. Log into Cambio and select option 'New Hertz Reservation,

Thanks Meha, that's very useful. But I'd still be interested in the answer to the original question

Sorry, but haven't been to UK with Cambio car but have been to France, Luxembourg and Germany. There were no problems at all in doing this. Everything is fully ensured, petrol card works fine etc. However, as mentioned it does work out cheaper using the Hertz option

I've never driven to UK in Cambio (I've rented a car in BXL and driven onto the train and I've taken the train and rented on the UK side as well).

I second Meha's comment- better to rent (hire) a car. I've been using Cambio regularly for 3 years and it's wonderful for short trip- but because you're charged by the kilometer, it's much more cost-effective to rent a car for any kind of lengthy trip. Cambio has a great feature where you can calculate the cost based on estimated mileage. We've been able to find very cheap rental cars in Brussels, so we just look to see which is the better deal. Good luck.

I have allways use TC rental in Ixelles as they were cheap and covered all EU countries without additional costs and also the car rental included unlimited mileage. http://tcrentacar.be/en?WT.mc_id=rl_logo_3
