TAX DECLARATION

Question

Creative advice please (-:
This is a real pain. I am trying to fill - for the first time - Tax on Web (before we always used the help offered by the commune!) but am currently abroad and cannot remember or find the PIN number for my ID card!....therefore cannot submit declaration. What to do?? (short of flying back and going to the commune in person...)
Also what is the fine, if I do not submit declaration on time??
Many thanks

becasse

Get in touch with your tax office immediately, the contact details are on the tax form cover letter, and explain that, although you have been trying to compile your return using Tax-on-Web, it is proving impossible because you are abroad (there is no need to mention the fact that you have forgotten your PIN, unless they ask why, in which case say that the PIN you have tried [could be any old number but they won't ask for it anyway] doesn't work and the paperwork to enable you to check it is the correct one is back home in Belgium).
They can give you permission to submit a late return and I can't imagine that they will refuse as they will spend most of the next 9-10 months producing the payment/refund notices.
