Tax refund letter received at Belgium after return to India

Question

Hi,

Today I was informed by an acquaintance in Belgium that I received a tax refund letter in the address I registered during my stay. I left Belgium in March 2011 and my Belgian bank account is closed too.

Can anyone suggest ways to get the money back? Can someone else collect it on my behalf using their bank account and then transfer it to me?

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You should have de-registered, sorted out your tax afairs, and left them a forwarding address & bank account number.
.
Get in touch with the phone number on the letter and sort something out. I would guess this refund relates to 2010, and that you will be due more for 2011. You may also still need to fill in a 2011 tax return.
