Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky to visit Brussels this week

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Brussels on Thursday to address a special session of the European parliament, according to reports.

Zelensky's visit to Brussels coincides with a European summit on Thursday and Friday, which will discuss support for Ukraine.

He is expected to give a speech in the European parliament on Thursday morning - and could later attend the EU summit alongside Europe's 27 heads of state and government.

However, for security reasons, the exact schedule for Zelensky's visit to the Belgian capital is being kept secret, a source told Le Soir.

The Ukrainian president's first trip abroad since the Russian invasion last February was to Washington, in December.
