Unemployment benefit

I have been given notice that I am to be fired from my job. I am 36 and will have worked in Brussels for one year and a week. Prior to this job I was unemployed and living in Germany. My question is does anyone know if I will qualify for some form of unemployment benefit? What do I need to do? when do I register - before end of employment or on first day of unemployment?
