Irrespective of where you live, you will not get cut off with prior notification.
Sorry that you are having financial problems but you can also try to contact the water company involved they may be compassionate.

Go to your commune's OCMW and ask their advice, that's what they are there for and their advice is both good and free. If you can't speak Dutch, take a friend or colleague who can along with you to explain things. (They may well be able to speak English but in many communes they are only allowed to speak Dutch.)

As Becasse notes, you should contact your local OCMW at the commune. They deal with this type of thing all the time. It's what they are for.
