USA social security benefits beyond 5 years

Anyone working in Belgium for an American company for an extended period beyond 5 years? I am currently paid in US $ by an American firm but residing as an expat in Belgium. I continue to contribute to USA social security system. I understand that after 5 years abroad something changes. Perhaps, I am no longer able to contribute? What are the options?
