Utility providers

Question

I am going to move into a new residence and have to sign up for utility providers, gas, electricity. I am most tempted to just sign up for Electrabel as this seems the easiest - however, I understand it might be a bit more expensive. Can anyone share their experiences on this how much there is to save to sign up with another provider(and who they are?). Perhaps there is a comparison site somewhere I can consult also Thanks in advance for all answers

on a survey run this summer by Test Achat Electrabel resulted surprisingly the cheapest of the whole lot; they have different energy sources (from green to nuclear) or usage type (day/night) which can determine the price range; so it is up to you to look what you want (cheap or green?).

I have been an Electrabel customer for over a decade and my gas/electricity bill has always been quite low (but i have all Class A appliances, low consumption light bulbs and I do not keep lights on unnecessary). I pay around 30 Euro a month just for lights and gas for cooking to give you an idea.

heating is centralized in the building and that is not included in my bill.

Hello there, there is a website from the government ranking the suppliers by price.

In Brussels you can find the cheapest supplier by this website:
http://www.brusim.be/proc/simulation;jsessionid=F2D6780538D862A14E90038D...

If you live in Flanders it is through this website:

Good luck!
