Value of buying a parking spot when buying apartment

Question

Hello,

I bought an apartment a few years ago, but didn't buy a parking spot (or "cave"). How much of a disadvantage is it not to have a parking spot to sell when selling an apartment? A neighbour around the corner is selling an underground parking spot - I'm wondering whether I should buy it...

Advice?

J

Err... Where do you live, and have you got a car?

Erm... my question was how much of a disadvantage it s not to have a parking spot to sell when you're selling an apartment.

The apartment is in Molenbeek.

In Ixelles, massive disadvantage. In Molenbeek, massive hinderance.
But that does depend on whether or not you have a car.

when we were looking for apartments, a few were being sold with an overpriced parking garage. For us, the parking garage was a disadvantage as we didn't care to get one. I think plenty of buyers out there not looking for parking garages so not a big deal, i would think.

If you don't have a car you could rent it out or store unsightly/cumbersome stuff in it. Apartments are not usually blessed with Bike racks for example. It really depends on your life-style.
