VPN for UK

Question

Anyone recommend a good VPN they are using to access a UK proxy server? Good speed for things like streaming services on my PC?

If you use chrome, there is no need for a VPN, just download the chrome app media hint. free, don't need to do anything at all, and you will get all the streaming services (bbc iplayer and ITV etc). Even works for American streams if you need that. :) Found it a few weeks back and works a dream!

No need for Chrome, can do the same with a Firefox App:

I have tried a couple of vpns and I'm mostly satisifed with cloudnymous because you buy a subscription that you use as needed. So for example, I buy the minimum of 10 dollars, and every day I connect to a server, an amount is deducted from my account. So for example, let's say I only need to connect to the UK on weekends, then for each day connected, is 0.39 cents, so now, monthly, I spend $3.12.

Also cloudnymous speeds are good enough that you can stream some channels. I'm not going to say it is the best because I'm yet to find a proxy that is as good as no proxy, but cloudnymous is the only that allows me to watch hulu for example, without the connectiong breaking every minute.

But their pricing is the best because like i said, it allows you to pay as needed, not on a monthly basis, which is a waste of money, if you're not using the proxy daily.

Here is their link: https://cloudnymous.com/

Prior to them, i was using, https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/

They only have monthly plans and their service was ok, although sometimes when streaming videos, the image would stutter. I really prefer cloudnymous as they seem to be a bit faster.

Thanks Davel, works a treat.

I've used HMA for years to do this before which is subscription based. Very good and easy to use though so if you want your online identity hidden as well then you should probably use a proxy server. If this is rubbish, someone please tell me :-)

If you get stuck on the installation of media-hint for Firefox, then post again and I'll help you.

I installed via the Firefox browser (tools-addons-getaddons-typed 'media' in the search at top right-chose media hint and followed instructions) on a PC and there was no donation required. I was not asked to donate.

In general, I don't donate to anything unless I find the software really good and useful. Then I will, which I think is fair. Not a lot mind, but 10€ is good value for something which improves your life in some way.
