Warranty for second hand car

Question

Hello!
I bought a second hand car in September from a car trader here in Brussels.
I have now had to make reparations for more than 1000 Euros (breaks etc). The company I bouth the car from says it is not included in the one year warrant, the WW garage where I had the reparaions done says it should be.
Does anyone know where I can find info on what is and what is not included in the warranty?
It see,s ridiculous that breaks would not be under warranty on a 3 year old car.
Thank You!

Luke

Contact test achats (join them if not a member) they will be able to advise and help legally --- One thing though -- did you take the car back to where you bought it from to demand they did the repairs prior to having them done elsewhere?

What was the problem?

It is standard that a guarantee will not cover consumable items like brake-pads.
The garage that sold you the car has no way of knowing how you will drive and how much you will use the brakes so they will not guarantee them. However the fixed parts of the brakes operating system should be covered.
