Water Softener Systems

Question

We are considering installing a water softening system as we have very considerable amounts of 'calc'in our water (we live in Brussels 1000).
Can anyone advise if this really helps (problems with water pressure / machines giving trouble etc) ... and if it is worth the cost - and/or recommend any companies.
Thank you

CM

We have one - we find it excellent and it's good not to have to descale the kettle and add products to the dishwasher and washing machine, or worry about damage to the boiler. It also means you don't get limescale in the bathroom, so the sinks, the shower, and the bath stay clean. And you use a lot less shampoo!
.
We got a Culligan one, but I'm sure they're all similar as it's a pretty basic task they do. It has been 100% reliable. You get a plumber to do the pre-installation and then Culligan came along and fitted it.

Is it worth it? Well I wouldn't go back to not having one.
