Where can I buy turf?

Question

Hi everyone, I have a small garden in Brussels and I wanted to plant some grass directly (instead of using seeds). This is straightforward in the UK where you buy turf in squares to fit your garden, but despite extensive internet searches I can't find anywhere that sells turf by the piece unless it is fake grass which I don't want. Can anyone help?

Try: 1) Pepinières de Boitsfort avenue des Archiducs 76
2) Garden Center Paul Coquette, av. de Foret de Soignes 349, 1640 Sint-Genesius-Rode
3)Groendekor, Chaussée de Mons 408, 1600 Leeuw-Saint-Pierre
4) Moens Garden Center, Itterbeeksebaan 172, 1700 Dilbeek

There are many more: do a search for Jardineries Bruxelles or for Garden Centers Bruxelles

The amount of preparation work needed to lay turf or to sow seeds is identical as is the amount of watering that you need to do after sowing/laying unless it rains.
Laying turf is many times more expensive than seeding and takes longer.
Seeding will give you grass in about a month.

Thank you both for your advice. We have decided to go with seeds after these comments, but I am paying a visit to the Garden Centre Paul Coquette too as I need to buy quite a few things! Great advice from you both and very much appreciated!

If it doesn't rain make sure you water it regularly and actually I think seed will
Be easier in the current dry conditions turf is often better laid earlier happy gardening

Thanks so much! My son is in charge and as it is so hot at the moment he is watering twice a day as it seems to sink in pretty fast. The birds have been the other problem picking at the seeds! But hopefully all will be well!
