Where to fins puppies?

Looking for a new puppy or young dog, prefer mixed breed, to be given away in the Brussels-Waterloo area. Finding none! Before there used to be ads posted in groceries - they are all removed now, and the vet offices just have one or two ads although it's the season. The websites I have checked show dogs living in far away provinces. Where exactly do people find dogs here? Any tips?? Thanks.
