Alice,
Your company will need to apply for a work permit (Permit B) for which you will need to earn atleast Euro 39,400/yr (2014 min). Once that's approved the commune where you live will apply for you a residence permit(valid for a year) that will come after 2-3 visits (you will be notified by mail to come to the commune each time). The residence card follows the work permit in terms of validity. Each yr your company renews the WP after which the commune renews the RP. After 3, 4 or 5 years(depends on each person's case), you will get a 5 year residence card(permanent residence). If salary is less than 39K then I think you go in for a Work Permit C(You apply for this permit,) which your commune will help you on how to go about the process.
