zaventem nightmares

Question

Geneva to zaventem - that's 350 kms in an hour. Then luggage from plane to carousel - that's 300 metres in 45 minutes ( when there are only four planes in the airport, at night ). Is there a rational explanation ?

I

You think that is a nightmare?
I waited 4 hours once in baggage reclaim, having already had my plane cancelled in Zurich and waited 5 hours in the queue for a hotel voucher to sleep for the night, then when I arrived back a day late into Zaventem and was told I had a choice of a 4 hour wait for my bag or exiting immediated coming back in a few days in the hope it was still there, I took comfort in seeing the hundreds of stranded passengers in baggage reclaim who had spent the entire night there, diverted from a Bangladesh to London plane - only those with Schengen visas (tiny minority) were allowed out, the rest were looked after by the Belgian Red Cross in baggage reclaim, it took them 2 days to get out of there and finally on their plane to London!!! So for them it was a nightmare, 45 minutes for your bag a nightmare, think again.
