Australian police resume search for missing Belgian after receiving new information

22:53 31/07/2023

Authorities in Australia have resumed the search for a missing Belgian woman after receiving new information.

31-year-old Céline Cremer, from Liège, went missing on the island of Tasmania earlier this summer.

A search that commenced in the beginning of July focused on Waratah, a town in the north-west of the island about 10km from Philosopher Falls, and was called off on 10 July.

“Last week, the police received additional information about Céline's telephone activities,” inspector Anthéa Maingay said this weekend.

An analysis of that information has revealed a new search area in the Philosopher Falls region and a new search is now being conducted, including with a New South Wales State Police cadaver dog.

“The dog is being used to comb the area,” Maingay said.
