Belgian Ryanair cabin crew to strike on 25-26 July
Ryanair cabin crew based in Belgium will go on strike later this month, potentially causing disruption to flights during the peak summer getaway.
A strike by pilots in Ireland will already affect flights on 12 July - and a further walkout by cabin and ground crew in Belgium, Spain, Italy and Portugal has now been called for 25 and 26 July.
Unions said they were dissatisfied with the budget airline's response to a list of demands to improve working conditions, including an end to sales targets for selling products on-board.
Didier Lebbe, secretary of the CNE trade union, said: "We don't plan to have just a one-off strike date, but a much stronger movement with other unions to really put pressure on Ryanair."
He said the airline did not officially recognise Belgian trade unions. Belgian staff are demanding employment contracts that are subject to the national legislation in the country they are based.
