Belgium is guest of honour at Strasbourg Christmas market
Belgium is the guest of honour at this year’s Christmas market in Strasbourg, which starts on Friday. The Strasbourg Christmas market, one of the largest and oldest in France (dating back to 1570), attracts about 2 million visitors each year. The massive market features nearly 300 chalets spread across 11 sites throughout the city, and kilometres of Christmas lights.
Belgium is strongly represented at this year’s market, with 15 chalets selling local produce. Visitors will be able to taste typical Belgian products such as chips, waffles, chocolate, blood sausage and more.
The Christmas market opens Friday and runs until the end of December, with more than 500 cultural events on the programme, including concerts, exhibitions and entertainment for children.
