‘Biggest watergun fight in Brussels’ has no permit

If you’re one of the 3,800 people who expressed interest in the Facebook event ‘Biggest watergun fight in Brussels’, you might want to make other plans for Saturday. The event has not requested a permit, and Brussels-City police are not amused.

The event, scheduled from 15.00 to 22.00, is supposedly taking place at Bourse. “There’s a chance that a whole lot of people will show up to play around with water, which isn’t exactly appreciated by everybody,” police spokesperson Olivier Slosse told Bruzz.

The police are still waiting for an official request, Slosse said, “otherwise, we’re not going to tolerate it. There will be extra patrols in the neighbourhood”.

On a side note, wouldn’t it be ironic if they showed up with a water cannon?
