Customs officers are working-to-rule at Brussels Airport at Zaventem on Wednesday, announced the Christian CSC trade union on Tuesday.
Officers will be checking luggage more thoroughly after aircraft land at the national airport, which could lead to baggage delays.
The action aims to highlight problems within the SPF Finance department, to which customs officers answer to, as well as the service itself.
The trade union pointed out that there was no question of delaying the flight of Belgium’s football team, due to take-off on Wednesday for Russia to compete in the World Cup.
The Red Devils' aircraft took-off safely shortly after midday on Wednesday.
