Brussels dance school PARTS' Research Studios saved temporarily
Brussels dance school PARTS will receive €500,000 in subsidies from the government of Flanders for the education programme Research Studios. The school is head by world-renowned Flemish choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
The programme, which was launched two years ago, takes two years to complete. Because of a lack of budget, it seemed that the programme would not be continued, but that problem has been solved through the extra subsidies – at least for the next two years. “PARTS attracts students from five continents and, therefore, clearly contributes to the international reputation of Brussels as a student and education city,” said education minister Pascal Smet in a statement.
The subsidies were taken from the fund Brusselmiddelen (Means for Brussels) in agreement with the city’s Dutch-speaking academic community.
