Brussels resident delivers beer by bicycle
Brussels resident Jeroen Verhoeven recently launched an original business initiative, transporting beer to locals using different types of bicycles to deliver up to nine crates. Verhoeven only distributes beers from Brussels breweries Brasserie de la Senne and Cantillon, reports brusselnieuws.be.
"I don’t do it for the money," Verhoeven told the news website. The sale of beer allows Verhoeven to combine two of his passions - bikes and traditional beer - but during the day he works as mobility specialist at the Brussels Council for the Environment (Bral).
Verhoeven loads his bike with beers from the two Brussels breweries, Brasserie de la Senne in Molenbeek and Cantillon brewery in Anderlecht. "My customers order by phone or e-mail. I deliver according to what fits best with both their schedule and my own, sometimes the very same day, and other times not until two weeks later."
The most popular beers that Verhoeven delivers are Zinnebir, Jambe de Bois, Taras Boulba, Stouterik, X-Mas Zinnebir, Brusseleer, Lambik and Faro.
