Brussels youth hostel accused of turning away Israeli tourist
A Brussels youth hostel run by the Flemish hostel association Hi Flanders turned away an Israeli tourist, according to the Centre for Jewish Information and Documentation (JID), a non-profit organisation that fights anti-Semitism.
JID claims the booking of an Israeli tourist was cancelled on the grounds that the hostel "does not accept people who commit crimes against humanity".
In a press release, the Jewish non-profit organisation announced that it was taking legal action and called on people who had had similar experiences to come forward.
“This is not at all in line with what we stand for as an organisation,” Hi Flanders director Paul Biliet told VTM.
VTM reported that an employee who made it known that Israeli guests were not welcome has since been sacked.
The hostel said it also contacted the guest concerned and informed him that he and other guests remain welcome.

Incredible! Holding Jewish or Israeli people generally responsible for Israel‘s and its government strategies and actions simply is totally unacceptable! The assumption of an individual person’s position to be that of agreeing with what is happening in Gaza or Libanon does not hold. It is discriminating against people of Jewish faith or origin who live in EU countries, is a racist act and contrary to assuring free practice of religion.
Thats what happened when the country has been taken over by islamists and antisemites, both driven by hatred and ignorance.
The Belgian government is feeble and scared. pathetic.
