Cinquantenaire Museum renovation to include Horta design
Belgium

Brussels' Cinquantenaire Museum will invest €2.5 million in the design of new exhibition halls, writes Bruzz based on a report in De Standaard. The showpiece of the project is the addition of the authentic shop interior of Belgian jeweller Philippe Wolfers (1858-1929), designed by Victor Horta.
The renovation also includes a new, more logical path through the collections and restoration of some of the more dilapidated rooms in the museum.
The highlight of the renovation project is a display of the original Wolfers jewellery store interior (pictured), designed by Belgian Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta. In the past, only the display cabinets were exhibited, but soon visitors will be able to see all of the interior.
