Comedy show on the ‘perils of patriarchy’ in Antwerp on 11 November

15:05 03/11/2023

After three sold out tours in one year, The Clitoris Act is coming to Antwerp for the first time on 11 November.

The one-hour theatrical comedy show by Mari Volar and Anshita Koul sees the pair sit, stand, dance and joke around a variety of topics as they explore their experiences as women living outside their home countries.

From gender, bodies and dating to intimacy, weight, beauty and societal expectation, nothing is off limits. This includes the key question: “How to properly lodge complaints with the patriarchy.”

Koul and Volar sum up their brand of humour. "The Clitoris Act or 2 cis 30-somethings and their obnoxious views about the perils of patriarchy.”

The duo are co-creators of the Clit Comedy Club. Koul (she/they) is originally from India; a software engineer turned hardware comedian, writer and educator who is currently based in Berlin.

Meanwhile, Volar, lives in Cologne after leaving her home country of Estonia in 2019. She’s an international comedian, comedy producer and musician.

Together, they have already performed in Brussels and Ghent and are now excited to bring their show to the Vlaams Fruit cultural centre in Antwerp.

Online tickets are cheaper than at the door and student discounts are available. Group discounts are available (minimum four people) at the door.
