A founding member of the American pop group Train has been found dead in a shower in Brussels after five days.

Charlie Colin was 58 years old and is believed to have slipped in the shower of a friend’s house where he was staying.

The artist's mother announced his death via TMZ, saying that his body was not found until his friends returned home from a trip. Colin had been housesitting.

Colin was a founding member of Train before leaving the band in 2013 to become a music teacher at a conservatory.

He had been living in the Belgian capital for several years.

In a statement on X, Train described Charlie Colin (pictured front left) as "the sweetest guy" and "a legend".

The artist’s mother told TMZ that in addition to teaching, Colin was also working at a studio and finishing making music for a film.

Train is perhaps best known for its 2001 breakthrough hit Drops of Jupiter, and other hits such as Meet Virginia and Hey, Soul Sister.
